ux revolution and ria

two new terms i learned today:

RIA = rich interactive application

UX - user experience 

used in a sentence: "the UX Revolution continues as I talk about about the future of RIAs and the story that a great user experience can offer" (from the getfinch blog)— i'm not even going to attempt to translate — so you can go here to read more about what it is.

get & give : web for greater good

typesites posts an article on GAG: get and give, a project at The Care for Kids Orphanage. from what i understand, if you need a site, you email them, you get a site - and then you give back. which goes straight into funding the housing of at least 42 children. 

as GAG states, "we teach our children how to use a computer, the www and how to build beautiful websites... visions from different backgrounds, generations and continents make sure that we never run out of inspiration and new ideas. so if you need something different: write us, get a site and give in return to our children."

why wouldn't i post about this?
